Emotional Cripple
By Ivor Griffiths
Emotional Cripple,

Brittle frozen and febrile
legs shatter when I fall
crawling by on bleeding elbows
mewling for a song
crushing pressure of cauterized
bones grinding grooves in stone
bleeding fingers rub cataract eyes,
sideways squint a revelation
calm and contented man.
Wonder
whats it like?

To stand
staring

into the water.
