Brendan Cleary (1958 - ), is a poet who was born in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland. His collections include The Irish Card (ISBN 1-85224-258-2), Sacrilege (ISBN 1-85224-460-7) and Stranger in the House (ISBN 1-903110-06-8). His latest work, Weightless (ISBN 1-904551-21-1), has been described as a modern blues.

Cleary now lives in Brighton where he also teaches poetry. His poetry can be melodic or darkly comic as becomes apparent during his performances.
